Please join us for an excursion out to Hurricane Island for a tour led by MSWG founder, Norman Casas, to learn about the history of the company town that founded the island, see remnants of equipment left behind, and a site-visit to the quarry.
The $50 ticket cost covers transportation to and from the island, a tour, and lunch provided by the Hurricane Island Galley. If cost is a barrier, please email mainestoneworkers@gmail.com for our sliding scale policy.
Schedule:
9am: Departure from Rockland
10am: Arrival at Hurricane Island
10:30am-12:30pm: Island Tour
12:30pm-1:30pm: Lunch / time to wander around time
2pm: Departure from Hurricane Island
3pm: Return to Rockland
Participants will meet at 8:30am for a 9am sharp departure from Journey’s End Marina.
